Current recommendations of foods to avoid with your baby include: Salt-It is important not to add salt. If you are preparing food for the family, season once served; it’s a good habit to get into as too much salt isn’t good for any member of the family. Sugar Sugar should not be encouraged as it can develop a desire for only sweet foods. In the future, this may lead to tooth decay and bad eating habits. There are so many naturally sweet foods than can be combined to get baby eating and exploring taste and texture that you’ll find you wont need it anyway. Honey Honey should be avoided until your baby is one year old; due to a rare bacteria that can lead to infant botulism. Nuts & Peanuts Unless otherwise instructed by your Doctor or Health Visitor, it is not recommended to feed nuts and peanuts to children less than five years of age due to the risk of choking. Low Fat Foods Low fat foots including Fromage Frais, Yoghurt or Cheese are not suitable for babies under the age of two; they do not provide the calories and some of the Vitamins that your baby needs. Raw Eggs and raw shellfish - Raw eggs and shellfish may contain harmful bacteria such as Salmonella; the risk of food poisoning from these foods is too great for babies Plus *Hard objects placed inside the bowl will damage your Wean Machine. *Always check the temperature of food before feeding your baby. *Never leave your baby unattended when feeding. *The Wean Machine is not a toy and should not be handed to your baby to play with.
